we have an octogon window on a west wall over the kitchen sink, what should we use to help block the sunlight, it is blinding in the evening.

Mine at my kitchen sink need a good cleaning tomarrow, thery’re the mini blinds. I’m going to take them down tomarrow for a cleaning, they’re still in perfect shape so I don’t want to replace right now. Any suggestions from past experience on the best way to do this, without tearing them up?
