by Abby Cardin Most people have TV’s in their living room or they have a TV room where they watch the majority of their movies and programs. Sorry, I’m still a blogger after all.

Monday, Jun 29, 2009 Is anyone old enough or heretical enough to remember 88 reasons Why The Rapture Will Be in 1988? I sat by the mini blinds in the living room, repenting and waiting. It never happened, and I wasn’t sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing. It just was. Like then, I sat by and waited for my blog to implode, and it never happened. My blog is still here, and I don’t know why. I only wanted to tell you before there was a permanent error message. There is no secret reas

Good Questions: Warming Up a Blah Bedroom?

Hello! My boyfriend and I just moved to a lovely 400 sq ft New York apartment. The apartment was entirely redone and the living room looks fantastic: brick wall, open kitchen, dark hardwood floors, aluminum blinds. The bedroom however is awfully cold (no brick wall) and I was hoping to pain it over. The entire place (including the hallway that leads to the bedroom) was painted in an eggshell color, leaving window details and doors white. I really believe the eggshell color is making the bedroom

stolen meme, yes, it’s come back to a stolen meme

1. What kind of SOAP is in your bathtub right now? Irish Spring with the microbeads. 2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator? Threw away the last of it this morning. 3. What would you change about your living room? Placement of speakers. 4. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty? Probably dirty. 5. What is in your fridge? Food I have yet to eat and food I won’t eat. 6. White or wheat bread? White tastes better but lately I’ve been eating whole wheat to be les

Amy’s Design Dilemma

Amy’s living room is ready for a major makeover. Here’s her letter: I’m so excited to have you work some magic on my family room! We recently moved in and the items were pretty much just set around the perimeter with no thought. As for my style, HGTV says I’m ‘Old World, New Way’, whatever that means. I feel I like clean (no clutter), comfortable, inviting, nothing stuffy. I really like Pottery Barn, I’d say that is my style. Also, the store Anthropologie appeals to me as soon as I walk in. T

Living Room: The Basics

We were very lucky that some of the items in the house was pre-selected for us. We came into escrow pretty late in the month so by then the builder had already pre-selected flooring, carpet and tile for the house. Although I would have picked a different shade of carpet and tile, I absolutely loved the flooring they selected: Mohawk engineered wood in chocolate maple. Now, I say we were lucky that these items were pre-selected because if I had to start from scratch, it might have taken me weeks

Susie’s Design Dilemma

Susie’s living and dining room is bursting with potential. Here’s her letter: My sweet husband got me a mood board for Mother’s Day! I love your style and I’m always trying to channel my inner This Young House but I need help with my living/dining room. I like different styles (everything from shabby chic to contemporary to glam to traditional) and I’m very indecisive. I would like the living room to be more open to the dining room area and don’t like that the loveseat shuts off the dining ro

LIVING ROOM CLEANING LIST

So here is my deep cleaning list for my living room for the Summer Cleaning Frenzy . Click here if you want to see my previous cleaning list. As I said before, don’t be impressed. Some of this is on an “as needed” basis, meaning that it may have already been done in my regular cleaning. Some may not. Also, it’s broken down individually but I can group things together (like the dusting) and get rid of several things on the list in just a few minutes. This room should be pretty easy to
